I Love Fashion
What a challenging few days we've had. Snow in March is not really that welcome. Just as we were all thinking about spring and slightly warmer weather and more importantly a wardrobe change. By now I was hoping to have banished my boots to the back of the wardrobe and my puffa to the 'now where did I put that?' cupboard. I refuse to completely give in, particularly with a store full of gorgeous new season delights.
So my solution is this. Treat yourself to some new season colours in basics that will take you through the season. The American Vintage Sonoma t shirt comes in THE most gorgeous colour palette. Long sleeve 100 % cotton with a great casual raw edge neckline it works over things (thermals!) and under things and brings a fab update to your t shirt drawer. Ive recently adopted the Marie Kondo (WWW.konmari.com) method of folding in my drawers and I am totally converted.
Next up to keep out the chills would be one on the fantastic knit pieces also from American Vintage. They use the most amazing yarn combinations which deliver super softness with a really unique take on colour. Have a look at these pieces below.
My favourite things to wear under an over sized jumper is a crisp shirt. It seems to make me feel less grungy, a bit more grown up. Try layering the yellow Zap282 oversized jumper or the cream Vacaville jumper with these easy shirts from Great Plains and French Connection.
I for one can not wait for a bit of warmth and the chance to expose my ankles. In the mean time I will make do with a bit of new season colour.
Hi, Im Claire and Im one half of the team behind The Square in Monmouth. Tracey and I love fashion and after many idle chats about how amazing it would be to set up our own store we finally took the plunge and opened in September 2015.
Our mission was to select a range of brands that would work for our busy lives. Predominantly we select fabulous pieces that work everyday. Price is so important and we understand that we all have many demands on our purse strings and so the biggest share of our budget goes to Great Plains. This reasonably priced range has all the elements of the seasons trends in a really wearable way. Prices start from £18 for a t shirt with most top prices coming in around the £40 -£60 price points. Trousers and jeans are cut really well. Jeans are high waisted and have fantastic stretch for all day comfort. Trousers have wonderful little style touches such as the ruffle hem on this seasons Suki trouser.
Alongside Great Plains we stock American Vintage and Hudson Jeans. Look out for our feature on American Vintage in the next couple of weeks.
For Customers looking for something a little less casual, we have a couple of other brands that do the Smart Casual vibe beautifully. French Connection has the most wonderful handwriting for Dresses. Beautifully romantic ruffles on gorgeously floaty fabrics or body con fit and flare styles in vibrant colours, French Connection has it all.

Have a fab Weekend!
